Select is proud to have installed a new 80-bay modular building at Bramley-Moore Dock for the Everton Stadium project. A four-storey facility, visible from Regent Road, was designed and manufactured by Select’s facility in Wincham, Cheshire just over 30 miles from site, and installed by the Select’s specialist lifting team. The Select team assembled the units on site in just nine days and handed over in record time, only four weeks after arriving on site.
The modular building has improved insulation, higher thermal performance windows, smart energy sensors and LED lighting. Utilising air-source heat pumps to recover excess heat from the drying room and use it to heat water for the onsite showers – all of which means the modular building has an energy performance certified A rating.
The team of 350 people at Bramley-Moore Dock will move into more spacious and lighter modular that form the new, open-plan project offices, and kitchen areas – allowing people to bring and prepare their own food, changing rooms, toilets, canteen and a dedicated contemplation and wellbeing space. The block also contains a passenger lift, additional heating and drying facilities and a top-floor gallery with panoramic views across the site onto the River Mersey.
Alex Warrington, Business Unit Leader for Select, said: “People want and expect more from their workplace since the pandemic, and our design team has created a new range of modern modular units that are not only more light and pleasant to work in, but which are also highly energy efficient and quick to assemble. The accommodation at Everton is the best I have seen in 20 years in construction and can only benefit worker welfare."
