Select Plant Hire is proud to announce the release of our FY25 Sustainability Performance Report, marking a year of accelerated progress and measurable impact. Building on the foundations set in FY24, this year was defined by partnerships, technology trials, industry leadership, and tangible achievements across all pillars of our sustainability strategy. Guided by the Laing O’Rourke group sustainability framework, the report demonstrates how Select continues to push boundaries to deliver meaningful, long‑term benefits for clients, society, our people, and the environment.

For our clients, FY25 saw significant advances in low‑carbon solutions for the construction industry. We expanded the use of battery-powered and renewable energy technologies; introduced the UK’s first hybrid piling rig on a central London project in collaboration with Casagrande; and supported the world's first net-zero concert. These innovations delivered cleaner, more efficient alternatives for major projects. This was also supported by our achievement of Gold Status with the Supply Chain Sustainability School for the third consecutive year.

Our people remain central to our success. Throughout FY25, hundreds of colleagues engaged in development and wellbeing programmes, supported by initiatives focused on inclusion, mental health awareness, and skills progression. Notably, 698 delegates completed courses through the Select Training Academy, equipping our workforce with the knowledge and capabilities to thrive in a dynamic, responsible business environment.

Environmental performance was another area of strong progress. We achieved notable reductions in Scope 1 and 2 emissions, supported by increased renewable energy use across our depots. These actions, combined with the adoption of greener technologies, reinforce our commitment to embedding sustainability into everyday operations.

Our social impact also grew substantially in FY25. Through community initiatives, education programmes, and charitable partnerships, we delivered meaningful benefits for the communities where we operate. From STEM outreach to supporting local causes, our teams strived to create lasting social value and strengthen community connections.

Looking ahead, our focus remains on continuous improvement. FY25 reinforces that sustainability is not a standalone goal, it is a shared responsibility and a core part of how we operate. Together with our clients, partners, and colleagues, we will continue driving innovation, supporting people, protecting the environment, and creating positive social impact.
