Site support

Select provides a comprehensive support service for heavy plant equipment across the UK.

To compliment our workshop base, we operate a Field Service team based at key locations around the country, ideally placed to minimise downtime by reacting quickly to a breakdown no matter where it is.

Our aim is to keep your fleet maintained to an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standard, and where possible, conduct preventative maintenance.

Our teams are equipped with laptops and diagnosis software from some of the world’s leading manufacturers such as Caterpillar, Hitachi, Liebherr, Bauer and Schwing. We’ll do our utmost to minimise downtime through the rapid diagnosis of faults and get equipment operational again.

Workshops (Plant)

All of our workshops operate as centres of excellence. All of our engineers and multi skilled and capable of working on any item from a light compressor right through to a bulldozer. Within the teams, our experts share their specialist knowledge so that no matter where you problem is, we can offer the best and most up-to-date advice.

We have the capability to carry out complete servicing, maintenance repairs and full machine overhauls, including engine rebuilds, hydraulic component rebuilds, ram repairs, hose repairs (to which we have our own ram/hose repair shop in St. Neots), and track and power train overhaul.

Workshop (Logistics)

We have fully trained engineers in our logistics workshop that are capable of carrying out M.O.T preparations and 6/12 weekly PMI inspections. We can carry out a wide range of repairs including brake relines, component change outs and general everyday breakdown faults. We have a brake testing facility, certified  to VOSA specifications, which is suitable for testing all units and trailers.

Field Service

We currently operate 14 field service engineers and three mobile welders across the UK, all under the control of our regional team, and able to offer technical assistance when required.

Select’s mobile engineers have a mobile workshop fully equipped with diagnostic and testing equipment. All are fully qualified and the welders have appropriate certification.

Safety has the highest priority in everything that we do. Our engineers are briefed each week on industry-wide developments and safety issues, which we are always happy to share. We work with our Global OEM partners to ensure all of our engineers are trained to the highest standards utilising the latest technologies available.
